Smile in a Day

Your teeth have many important responsibilities. They allow you to bite, chew, and speak properly. Along with these jobs, your teeth also play a critical role in the health of your jawbone. When you lose your teeth, all of these functions and more are affected. Dental implants are a popular treatment for replacing missing teeth. However, it can often take several months before you can get your final teeth. At Florida Prosthodontics, we can help you to avoid the wait and get your permanent teeth right away with Smile in a Day.

Effects of Tooth Loss

When you lose your teeth, it affects every aspect of your life:
•  The quality of smile decreases.
•  Your confidence suffers.
•  It becomes more difficult to bite and chew food. This can impact your digestion and your nutrition.
•  Speaking becomes more challenging.
•  Your jawbone begins to lose mass, which causes it to start changing shape. This eventually leads to alignment issues for your remaining teeth. You may be faced with bruxism and TMJ disorder.

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are a modern treatment for replacing missing teeth. This treatment uses small titanium posts, which are surgically implanted into your jaw, to provide support for your replacement teeth. A versatile treatment, dental implants can be used to replace a single missing tooth or an entire arch of missing teeth. The titanium posts rely on a process known as osseointegration. This is the fusion of your bone to the posts, which stabilizes them within your jaw. The ceramic crowns that replace your missing teeth are screwed into place on these posts.

Getting Your Teeth in One Day

Smiling woman is happy about Smile in a Day at Florida Prosthodontics
Typically after implant surgery, a set of temporary teeth are set into place, which stays there until you have fully healed. The amount of time it takes for you to heal from implant surgery can take several weeks to several months depending on how many posts were placed. Then, once your jaw has healed, it takes two additional appointments to get the crowns. At Florida Prosthodontics, we can provide you with your final restorations the same day that you have your implant surgery performed.

How exactly is this possible? Rather than waiting until after you have healed from surgery to take impressions of your mouth, we take digital impressions before your surgical procedure. Using CAD/CAM technology, we can design replacement teeth that will fit perfectly. The information is sent to our in-house milling machine, where your teeth will be created. When you arrive for your dental implant surgery, your new teeth will be ready and waiting for you. As soon as your surgery is complete, your teeth will be screwed into place.

Benefits of Smile in a Day

Smile in a Day provides you with the same benefits as any other dental implants. Your teeth look, feel, and function just like natural teeth. They are comfortable and easy to care for. They also protect the health and integrity of your jawbone. Other benefits of Smile in a Day include:
